Wynne Evans
Victoria Joyce
Bedford Park Proms 2021 will be our 25th Proms event and it’s shaping up to be a spectacular evening, with best-selling tenor Wynne Evans and soprano, Victoria Joyce now confirmed for Bedfordshire’s most prestigious al fresco Proms event.
Wynne Evans is a best-selling classical artist, with his debut album going straight to number one in the classical charts. His acclaimed performance in the 25th anniversary performance of The Phantom of the Opera, and appearances in a host of concerts at the Royal Opera House, English National Opera and Opera North have made him an incredibly popular live performer. But you may also recognise him for his decade in the recurring role as Gio Compario in a series of TV adverts.
“Wynne’s performance at last year’s concert was just spectacular and we’re delighted to be welcoming him back to the Bedford Park Proms,” said promoter and event organiser, Mark Harrison.
Victoria is without a doubt one of the UK’s most exciting performers. After studying at the Royal Northern College of Music she made her English National Opera debut in 2003 as La Charmeuse in Massenet’s Thaïs, and has returned to ENO on many occasions since performing roles such as Queen of the Night in Mozart’s The Magic Flute and Rosina/The Barber of Seville. Also appearing at prestigious opera houses including La Fenice, Hamburg State Opera; the Semper State Opera in Dresden and Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro.
The rousing musical accompaniment to the evening will be provided by the London Gala Orchestra under the baton of Stephen Bell.
“This is a fantastic line-up for this year’s event, we’re thrilled to have Victoria performing alongside Wynne this year,” added Mark.
“The Bedford Park Proms always provides a night to remember, and we’re looking forward to bringing back traditional favourites to celebrate our 25th anniversary, from the Bedford Choral Society as well as a stunning fireworks and laser show to bring the evening to a close.”

FAQs
The Prime Minister’s confirmation that formal Covid-19 restrictions ended on Monday 19 July means that the concerts at Bedford Park looks set to operate in a far more familiar, effectively “normal” manner.
As the Prime Minister has stressed, the coming weeks will require a significant degree of personal responsibility. If you do feel unwell, have covid symptoms or have been advised to self isolate you should not attend the event. We will have Track & Trace QR codes positioned throughout the venue and would ask all attendees to scan and check in on arrival.
The Government guidance around “hands, face, space, fresh air” remains appropriate advice to all individuals attending a concert at Bedford Park. We will provide plenty of hand sanitiser, guidance and signage around the site to support this advice. Of course, being an outdoor concert, we have plenty of fresh air and space for concert goers to distance themselves if they feel this is appropriate and more comfortable to them. Government guidance to individuals regarding face coverings is that these are advisable when indoors or in a busy area. Please be aware that this is Government guidance to individuals, so we would recommend wearing face coverings in busy areas.
To make concertgoers aware in advance, we will not be mandating concertgoers to wear face coverings when in busy areas – rather it is encouraged and recommended. Our close contact team, such as those in the bar areas will be lateral flow tested daily. Staff onsite will be given the option to wear face coverings.
